The Butcher
December 11, 2017
If you follow my daily posts then you know my husband and I are BIG fans of farmers markets. This butcher is located at The Hanover Market House, this is Hanover’s original market. The markets history goes back over 200 years.
It’s always nice to have a local butcher and even better when using that butcher supports small business. We usually buy ground beef, roasts, brown eggs and “Sunday” sausage. This time we also bought a brisket to try out in the new smoker. How was it you ask??? Delicious.
Wayne Nell & Sons is a family-owned and operated wholesale and retail meat market located in East Berlin they also have a stand at the afore mentioned market). Their staff has more than 50 years of combined experience and is committed to providing customers with quality products and services that meet and surpass their expectations.
Over the years they have earned an enviable reputation by offering only the finest quality of locally raised beef, poultry and pork available in the York PA area.7567BrisketbutcherHanovermarket2017COPYRIGHTAll Rights ReservedDycasStudiosPhotographyiphone7sometimesiusemyiphone
April 30, 2013 This is the entrance to Mauer & Miller Meats, a local butcher shop.
Here is a bit of history:
The Miller Family and associates have been serving the Manchester community since 1921. Charles L. H. Miller purchased a butcher shop on Westminster Street in Manchester. The business consisted of Custom cutting hogs and steers and selling meat off of horse drawn wagons with routes in Carroll County, Baltimore County, and Pennsylvania. In 1949 the building on the corner of Main Street and Rt. 27 was purchased so we could sell groceries and produce. Eugene Miller, son of Charles and Mary Miller, grew up helping his parents operate the family business.
