The Butcher
December 11, 2017
If you follow my daily posts then you know my husband and I are BIG fans of farmers markets. This butcher is located at The Hanover Market House, this is Hanover’s original market. The markets history goes back over 200 years.
It’s always nice to have a local butcher and even better when using that butcher supports small business. We usually buy ground beef, roasts, brown eggs and “Sunday” sausage. This time we also bought a brisket to try out in the new smoker. How was it you ask??? Delicious.
Wayne Nell & Sons is a family-owned and operated wholesale and retail meat market located in East Berlin they also have a stand at the afore mentioned market). Their staff has more than 50 years of combined experience and is committed to providing customers with quality products and services that meet and surpass their expectations.
Over the years they have earned an enviable reputation by offering only the finest quality of locally raised beef, poultry and pork available in the York PA area.7567BrisketbutcherHanovermarket2017COPYRIGHTAll Rights ReservedDycasStudiosPhotographyiphone7sometimesiusemyiphone

I am always mesmerized by artists, especially ones that create art in a not so standard way. I could have stood here for hours watching in awe of his talent but the others in my group were ready to move on. I now wish I had bought one of his paintings but I didn't. I do that a lot....hem and haw and then don't make the purchase and regret it later.ScreenShot2017NCLNorwegian EscapeMexicoCosta MayaCaribbeanCOPYRIGHTAll Rights ReservedDycasStudiosPhotograhyiphone7sometimesiusemyiphone

We had lunch here while visiting Costa Maya & this was our view. It was a nice location, we weren't really that hungry, we stopped more for a rest than anything else. The 4 of us split a taco platter, 8 taco's for $20 the tacos were small but just enough and for twenty bucks the view was well worth it ;)IMG_6442.jpgNCLNorwegian EscapeelfaroMexicoCosta MayaCaribbeanwhataviewCOPYRIGHTAll Rights ReservedDycasStudiosPhotograhyiphone7sometimesiusemyiphone

Back to the Caribbean...this was taken in the cruise village of Costa Maya. This is one of several acrobatics going on through out the day. Moving on to the port of Costa Maya. This port was pretty cool, it has a wonderful shopping area, within the shopping area there was a large lounge pool as well as acrobats in different areas, cultural experiences and a small wildlife area.
Mahahual is the last hidden paradise in the Mexican Caribbean and has been named as such by its visitors who find here the source for tranquility, culture and adventure.
Before the arrival of the Costa Maya cruise port, the charming small town of Mahahual served the fisherman whose main economic activity was lobster and conch fishing. Today, the port and town are the hub of a thriving and fast-growing travel industry with Mexico’s second largest port and a well-built infrastructure to be the strategic center of travel for the entire coast where sun, sea and adventure abound.

Harvest Caye, Belize
October 29, 2017
Last shot from Belize, how cool are these live sized chess and checkers boards....
The construction of Harvest Caye, which was nearly four years in the making, employed hundreds of local workers for the building phase, and more than 400 will continue to work on the island in cruise passenger-facing jobs. On days when they aren't working, those employees will be paid to perform various community service projects on the Belizean mainland.
What's also interesting is that Norwegian has created a hybrid that's part port of call and part private island. For example, Norwegian plans to open the island to cruise lines outside the Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings family eventually, and a day on Harvest Caye isn't necessarily an extension of the onboard experience. Passengers will find locals manning the island, rather than ship crew, and most cruisers will have to pay for food and most activities. (Note that this does not apply to Regent passengers; everything is included in their cruise fares, with the exception of beach villas and pool cabanas, which are offered at a discounted rate.) On the other hand, visitors from Norwegian Cruise Line, Regent Seven Seas Cruises and Oceania Cruises -- all of which visit the island -- can still use their cruise keycards for purchases ashore, and the only shore excursions offered are those booked through a cruise line.
Regardless of how you choose to classify it, Harvest Caye is a clean, easy-to-navigate and beautifully designed island.

Immerse yourself in natural beauty and culture on a 75-acre oasis featuring an expansive pool with a swim-up bar, salt-water lagoon for water sports, exclusive 7-acre beach and exciting shore excursions ranging from zip lining across the island to snorkeling the world's second largest barrier reef.
The development of Harvest Caye is part of The Norwegian Edge™, a program that is set forth to bring higher standards to the high seas.
